[las vegas] if i got turbo would someone help me with install?
i dont know if this is in the right section of the forum but i was wondering... are there any locals in vegas that could help a fellow 7th gen member out? if i was to get a turbo would anyone help me with the install? i wouldnt want to take the risk of installing it by myself and not knowing how or what is wrong with what i am doing. i figured the best way to learn about it is helping with the install and not trial and error. i am thinking the trial and error method is a way big risk especially on a turbo set up o_O thanks for any responses because this is a kind of stupid thread. lol
Last time I had this much fun some furniture got broken!

even if you get someone to install it with/for you you have to make sure to get it tuned. Just reminding you. You probably know that, but just trying to keep a fellow 7thgen member safe. good luck.

lol... anyone went to hondocters yet? they good?
lol... anyone went to hondocters yet? they good? dude you gotta hit up Dizzle, he did his whole setup HIMSELF. hes the one guiding me through my turbo setup right now. hes daily driving his car, tuning and everything. trust me this is a guy you would want to help you out here. he's never blown anything. hes also done all his internals, turbo setup, tuning all HIMSELF. he hasnt spent a dime on labor , all the work has been done by him and completely nothing wrong no little errors and no check engine lights. so if anyone has questions on internals/external, electronics, tuning and turbo setups or installation i would definitly hit him up.

wow he seems like the man for the job. lol i wonder if he would help me. i would pay him if he wanted lol. but mainly i want this to learn, not because i am lazy or anything. wow christian i didnt know you were turbo. i didnt see anything that would hint turbo when i see your car. pretty sleeperish, good **** lol
naw i aint got turbo right now installed or anything but hes guiding me on picking parts, what i should get first and last, and the proper way of installation. but yeah i dont got turbo but soon!!!!
lol.. i went from all motor d17.. to custom built turbo d17 (built by yours truley.. first one in vegas at the time).. and of course the swap.... highly unusal.. who is this guy "ohnpoint".... especially for a first post
ask dizzle.. i was done with my turbo and in the process of taking it out while he was running his nitrous setup still... i roughly got my swap done around the same time dizzle got his turbo setup in...

how did the all motor d17 work for you? i honestly would go all motor but from what i see there is like almost absolutely no hope to make good/decent power with an all motor d17. i want to get into the low 14 range.... i am starting to think of a nitrous set up.... how much does a fresh bottle of nitrous run you and where can you get it? how many passes can 1 full 10lb bottle take up? the one thing i feared about doing a nitrous setup in vegas is that the bottle might get too hot and blow up... is that a real concern, can that even happen? lol
nitrous setup to run 14's.. you will have to build ur motor or get something more to tune it cause a straight nos setup is not good... if anything i think dizzle could explain this better
true. my bro blew up a piston on his 2000 celica GT and ended replacing it for better ones though (B&M's). it's soo freaking fast he'd be whooping stock srt-4's (intake/manifold/exhaust) like nothing and so far hes beat 4 of them too! hes best time was 14.3 due to some internals done. so yeah x-pro is right on that nitrous setup straight nitrous is not good you definitly need motor work! i remember when dizzle blew up one of his cylinder rings or something whatever you call it then swapped the head to an EX.

DOH
to make a nitrous set up work i will need new pistons and piston rings... thats it? you think i can get this nitrous set up goin for under 1g? i was looking at making a junkyard turbo for under 2g but thats a long shot... a member on this site is selling his turbo set up that turboengnr made for 1600... damn i want that kit so bad but i got no money right now... oh about the question i asked earlier... is it possible to blow up your nitrous setup due to high temperatures? i heard of an incident where a bottle warmer was wired up wrong and it was on all day and it ended up blowing up his entire car
[edit] i was also considering buying an ebay turbo, turbo mani, wastegate and bov set for only like 600 shipped. i was thinking thats a really good price to start off with and you could probably get that setup running for pretty cheap. my main concern is money

pistons are just the start theres a whole lot more, camshafts, camgears, connecting rods, and many more to be on the safe side. oh and i talk to dizzle about those ebay turbos setups he told definitly not GOOD or just flat out crap at all unless it was like the tsi kits or dezods which i doubt but those ebay turbos i dont know man not saying their good or bad but i just dont trust it for no reason. i do agree with him though, i mean you do get for what you pay for. if low on the budget just buy piece by piece after each paycheck.
