Concerns About Turboing My '03 Civic EX 2dr
I just found this forum, and I can't stop reading articles. But I've been seeing a lot of people have had trouble with OBX Turbo Manifolds and keeping A/C. I was wondering if anyone could give me any more information on this problem, and possible soultions, such as alternative manifolds or alternative placement of the A/C pump, or something.
Also, I was wondering if anyone knew what type of flange a TD04H uses.
Thanks in advance!

obx manifolds are notorious for falling apart after short time being used. they are pretty much junk unless you reienforce them heavily. dezod makes a good log manifold and an awesome (but pricy) equal length. fitment and quality is top notch, you don't lose anything.

obx = trash
i have an early version of the dezod EL manifold, and getting it in the car was far from easy, but besides having to get my coolant passage completely re-engineered to keep the manifold from boiling my coolant, Im pretty happy with it. lol

so bascially, what I'm hearing is that the Dezod mani is pretty good, but I'd like to know to what extent you had to get your coolant passage, and how much it costs. Also, I'd like to know where I can get a Dezod mani.
I'd also like to know anything you guys have to offer about the turbo I want to use, a Mitsubishi TD04H. Will the TD04 jive with the Dezod log mani or am I going to have to reevaluate my choice in turbo. I mean I guess I could always go for a T3/T4 if I can find one for the right price. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks again.

dezod is good, ive never heard any complaints...but obx...unless u are buying basic I/H/E which u arent stay away from the cheap stuff...turbo is serious can mess that car up if u dont treat it right...
I also see that with the HKS mani, you need a turbo with an internal wastegate. I'm not too sure that the turbo I'm going to use does, which is a nother reason I could use some info on the turbo (Mitsu TD04), if anyone has any.
Thanks

BTW all of our manifolds are externally gated and T3 footed. You can solve the external gate option by buying a block plate for it.

the HKS manifold has a T25/T28 5-bolt footprint.
As far as the Mitsu turbos... I think all of em are internal gated. TD04... isnt that just a '14b'? Like an Eclipse turbo? those are internally gated. I don't know of too many T25 based turbos that arent.
