brakepad replacement not fitting

Hi I'm currently replacing my brake pads and I got them off and everything and depressed the piston with a c-clamp, now when I put on the new pads.. they seem to be too thick to fit around the rotor. I went to kragens and these were the pads they gave me, could it be that they gave me the wrong pads thanks

Ps. I got soe raybestos PG Plus pads, but on the pads it says QS ceramics. Did they give me the wrong pads in the right box

Are you using all three stock shims? When I did mine, I was trying to use all three, but they wouldn't go on...so I only ended up using two per pad. I think. It was a long time ago. And even after that, They had some trouble going on, but I took the clamp to the piston again to really make sure I had it in all the way, and it went in the second time just enough for them to slip on.

thanks for the quick reply. I tried using only 2 shims and it still wont go on. Do you have any suggestions on where a good spot to clamp it on? directly onto the pad?

Don't clamp the new pads.
You'll notice the edges of the pads are chamfered, thats so you can stuff thick new pads over the rotor edge. Slide the loaded caliper on from the side, don't try to shove it on from the front.

Happened to me too...

For what it's worth, I just did the right front pads on my 2001, and I had the same problem. I've done pads/rotors a million times, & never had a problem like this...I used a palm sander to bring the pads down to a thickness that would let them go on...

just a note. you should make sure that the guide pins are greased and moving freely. a frozen pin can cause a similair problem
