Bad Day with Coolant Leaking

Horrible day today. I drive back to college after eating at a resturant. I get into the parking lot and before I shut my car off the temperature gauge is 3/4ths to the H. It may have even rising but I shut the car off. I pop the hood and look at the front of the car. Coolant is leaking all over the place. It made a big puddle on the ground. Seems like it is always one thing after another. Anyone have any ideas on what it may be and what it will cost? I checked the hoses and they are not leaking anything out of them.

overflow tank overflowed, air pocket in the line, crack radiator, bad head/manifold gaskets, heater core crack....numerous possibilities.... ruptured plumbing......the cap may also not be pressurizing properly.....

I'm having overheating problems too. It seems like more and more of us are having oveating issues as our cars get older. I had everything changed but the head gasket and heater core. The bitch still overheats.

Cracked radiator is the cause. Aren't I lucky? A mechanic I went to bought me a new one for 140 and charged me an hour of labor and coolant. 240 bills. Is that a good price? I heard it could have been almost $400 bucks.

I have a 2001 EX 4 door automatic. It failed at the bottom. When they did apressure test and filled the radiator up with coolant, all it did was just leak to the floor. It must have been a pretty big hole since it leaked very fast. The guy even let me watch him put it in and gave him a hand with holding some parts in place. He offered to lower my car since he had brand new springs for my car that a friend of his didn't want. He was only going to charge me labor which all together would be $320. I am still thinking about it since lowering the car doesn't seem to improve much on the car.
