E-Manage Ultimate Installed, group effort here! UPDATED, IT'S ALIVE!!
Ok, so I decided to take the plunge on the E-Manage Ultimate.
I got it for a few reasons.
I wanted the launch control rev limiter, I wanted to increase my redline, I liked the mose detailed datalogging, and I wanted to use the autotune feature.
I received it today and decided to do some quick testing to see what would work right off the bat and what wouldn't work.
Some quick throughts on the unit.
The shiny finish looks a lot better than the blue from the older e-manage.
There are a lot more jumpers this time, a total of 18, which have a lot more options.
This unit is straight USB, and it connects A LOT faster than the older e-manage, imports and exports data a lot faster and with a lot less connectivity problems. It was basically just plug and play.
So I plus it in and mess with the jumpers a bit and this is what I have so far.
I got it to run, really good actually. I set it for a K20A and the car starts up fine and it runs fine, only a few minor issues.
The only thing I really got around to testing was the launch control rev limiter...and IT WORKS!!!
I was skeptical about it working on our cars because of the electronic ignition, but it worked.
So tommorow I'm going to see if I can get the whole thing to work, but this is where I need everyone's help.
The extra harness has the following...
Analog Input
Knock Signal 1/ Water Temp Signal
Crank Angle Sensor Input
Injector Output Signal CH1
Injector Output Signal CH2
Injector Output Signal CH3
Analog Output
Knock Signal 2/ Intake Temp Signal
Cam Angle Signal Input
Wehicle Speed Signal Output
Vehicle Speed Signal Input
Injector Output Signal CH4
Injector Output Signal CH5
Injector Output Signal CH6
I'm wondering what I should really be hooking up from this harness tommorow.
The analog input is a generic input that I won't be using. I wired my wideband and the Greddy pressure sensor to the e-manage and I think that's all I'll need for now.
The knock sensor 1 wire, I'm going to hook up to our factor knock sensor.
Now is where I get confused.
The crank angle sensor input, I believe should goto the Crankshaft position wire on the ECU...how essential is this for tuning and datalogging? What is it used for? Is this the wire I should be hooking it up to?
The injector output wires also confuse me, those that have installed the blue e-manage will remember hooking this wires up, this time these are output. After reading the manual, it says that you only hook up the outputs it you want to add and trim fuel VS. just adding fuel. What exactly is trimming fuel?
I plan on hooking up the Intake Air Temperature for datalogging.
Then finally the Cam angle input...do we have this wire in our cars? I'm looking through the ECU pinout and can't find anything.
Could it be top dead center sensor? K Line? Anyone now? What can this be used for?
Well that's it for now, so hel me out here!!

Pics coming tommorow.

did the wiring for emanage blue work for the ultimate or is there a conversion harness or what?
did the rev limiter remover worked along with speed limit remover?

I finished the install yesterday and the car is running 100%, at least so far!!
I was initially having problems with the way the car started/ ran, it was running WAYYY too rich, and I couldn't figure out why.
I set the injector correction feature and I opened up the datalog to see what was going on.
Well, the Blue E-Manage corrects injector size through the MAP Sensor, the Ultimate actually adjusts the injectors themselves, which is a great feature in itself.
I managed to also hook up my AEM Wideband and the Greddy Pressure Sensor.
I just finished wiring up the Crank Angle and Cam Angle, which I was told the Cam Angle would be the Top Dead Center sensor wire going into the ECU.
I love the datalogging, it is a big improvement over the Blue, with a lot of new logging channels.
I got the launch control working and it's awesome.
I still haven't messed with the auto-tune or the rev limiter, but so far it's been awesome.
Now a question, does anyone know what I should be watching with the Ignition Timing(Cam/Crank Angle) to tune the ignition timing? Like what kind of numbers or anything? Thanks!

postive. read some threads about rev limiters or threads that ask how fast you been in your civic. think about it the car doesnt cut the ignition cuz the car is still on. lol. so its fuel. im 100% right.

find out if the rev limeter will raise cause if it does im ordering one thats the only realson i dont want emanage blue.
I really wish dezod would make a plug and play harness for the ultimate. That would be so nice.

sounds good so far. keep us posted. it does make sense that since the car doesnt die after hitting the revlimiter or the governer that its cutting fuel and not ignition. just to clarify this, would the emanage ultimate work with the d17 also?
i was told that the ecu reads the rpms off of the crank sensor. if this is the case then there is no way to modify the rev limiter with out the ecu totally f ing everything up. modiflying that signal wont allow the car to run right becasue it will never read the proper signal
would this work with the harnesses for blue? cus i wanted the ultimate but have the blue installed already, if i could just take the old out and put in the new then plug it up id buy one now.

Quick update.
I got the car running perfect right now, and I have a check engine light but it was there prior, so I have to see if any new codes came on.
As for the rev limiter, the problem isn't how the ECU reads the RPMs, because what the E-Manage does is add fuel after the factory ECU stops...I don't see how that would have anything to do with the crank sensor.
As for the install, two of the E-Manage Blue harnesses plus up, but you have to wire another one if you want all of the extra features.

hwoody is right, because even with my blue, the tuner added fuel past the rev limiter (7k) and now it goes a few hundered past that, however i dont try to push that because its not adding enough fuel for boost.

How many lame *** supercharged k swapped civic owners can't spell E-M-A-N-A-G-E there is no "R"?! haha a dose of your own medicine.
Maybe its time to look towards the ultimate as an upgrade to the blue.

xsr- i think youll have a more luck with the EMS. i am pretty much positive that you still cant change the rev limiter on this unit with our cars. but if you can it would be a cheaper alternative but as i said i still dont think its going to work

im more interested in the standalone mainly due to tuning problems with th emanage. Im not wasting any money going to a dyno with the POS blue. I'm currently saving for the AEM.
