Lubecontrol initial shock treatment

It says for the FP60 an intial shock treatment of 3oz per TANK. To me that doesn't makse sense, cause if I went with the normal dossage of 1oz per 5g I would be a just over 3oz with 17.1g. So is it 3oz per tank or per gallon?

lol.... I thought of that too, but for me it's a little more extreme as I have a 39 gallon tank. A normal dose for a fill up is almost 7 oz. But, on their FAQ page it states that to much will not hurt your engine, so I just used 3 oz per 5 gallons.

normally its 1oz per 5g so just use 5-6 for the shock treatment for your 17gallon tank. The shock treatment is about 1.5-2x the normal amount

Yea sorry. 5-6oz would be a good bet. While it does say that you cant use too much I think that I remember reading somewhere (I think that it was one of the independent 3rd party testers that they have on their page) that it might be too powerful for older engines and that the quantity should be reduced. But this most likely pertains to really old engines like 1970's and older I would guess.. but idk

the normal dose is 1oz per 5 gallons. the initial dose (first time use) is 2 oz per 5 gallons.

Derek, your car isn't that old. I think the purpose of the "shock treatment" is to get the old crude out of your car. So I'm gonna say if your car isn't that old, just use the normal 1oz/5gallon

Derek....that's a misprint on the label....unfortunately we have about 10,000 more of them.

Shock is 2 oz per 5 gallons.

man, this stuff is the shiznit. My car is rated 27mpg hwy new and I got 31.5 avg on a tank driving to AZ from Ottawa. I think on avg I got over the rated amount on the whole trip. I have a screen shot, but it's kinda crappy.

Derek used the FP60, that is the gasoline additive. You are talking about the LC20, which is the oil additive. The oil additive works with synthetic or dine from my understanding.
