New Dampers on a Budget
Hey this is another noob question that may have been asked many times before. I am just about to install Eibach Sportlines on my 01 LX (canadian) coupe. I have read that with lowering springs the OEM dampers are more likely to blow. The car has high mileage (203,000 kms) so I am wondering should I just swap the dampers while I have the car on the lift.
Now the second part of the question which is which dampers should I get? I am just finishing a semester of school and money is tight. Koni and Bilstein are too much and I was wondering if there was a cheaper shock that still retained some of the features of these higher end ones.
The car doesn't do much, or any, track duty so I am looking for a street set-up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tokico would be the cheapest.
Just install springs, if you dont like something (e.g. blown struts) then you can always make up for it later.
May be you'll like a ride on blown struts, who knows.
