Question about Honda Civic (Coupe) 2003

Hello chaps,

Firstly, after reading a few posts in this area I found that it is illegal to have you car lowered (and for that matter - I do not know if having low clearence side skirts and front lip would be illegal). Can someone confirm this statement?

Secondly, I feel that my car has a low (I do not mean bad) pick up - like when I rev up from a stop light. I heard that Turbo Chargers that cost like 60 bucks will supply about 30hp. Can anyone testify if there are safe to use and legal? My car's still under warranty though.

Thirdly, as I am new this country and to Detroit,Mi - I really do not know who I can talk to about these modifications. Is there anything like a directory of listings of places where they mod civics nationwide? Also, can some give me a vague idea about how much cost I am looking at for installation(side skirts, front lip, rear spoiler and turbo charger)

I never heard it was illegal to have are cars lowered. If u want better accerlation get your throttle body bored out i did that. If u want body work done talk to mateusz he knows people in the business. I put my lip kit on myself looks hot i just need a paint job. There are a couple places to get parts for are car but your better off doing what u can on your own. I recommend that you get an alarm after you start modding it. I just got mine installed today. If u need help with anything let me know i will be more then happy to help u out.

its not illegal to lower your car. As for a turbo charger, ive never heard of one costing 60 bucks, your looking at a lot more money than that for a turbo

I dont think a 60.00 turbo can create that much power. U are looking at a lot of money for a turbo

Actually there is a limit as to how low a car can be in Michigan. There is also a height restriction as well. They do this because they got tired of people getting into accidents when they drive over train tracks and pieces start flying off coz their car was too low. Coz the whole winter and summer thing cause problems with rising and lowering of roads
