Vented catch can works, baffled catchcan with a slash cut for vac works better.
But regardless you don't want that oily crap going through the turbo and pipes... I can't honestly believe they sell the kit like that.

Breather can isnt needed. oil doesnt "spray" out like you described
oh and personally one reason im putting that lil breather is because its a good indicator of blowby, if all of the sudden theres tons of oil, it means youve got excessive blowby (air/fuel blowing down past the piston rings creating higher crankcase preasure) and so its a good indicator of problems. its like the poor mans oil pressure gauge hahaha

Second, if thats the way the kit comes, then how could I be picking on one individual person?
Third, what comes out of that breather is a fine mist of air, carbon **** and oil, its not exactly a solution you want running through the charge pipes. It makes a mess.
Fourth, if you want to run it like that, then do it. It makes little to no difference to me, but there are FAR better ways to do it.
Last, the PCV is still hooked up, so its not venting the bottom of the crank case under boost anyways, its only venting the head.

yea but hes saying that its not nescessary and its not good to have that **** going into and through your turbo, plus it decreases the quality of air being taken into the engine so its better to not have it connected.
is true.

I'm confused now.
The stock air box has direct connection to the breather line.
Anyway you look at stock system it works exactly as TSI's.

Also the stock system is rigged for one purpose, emissions. If you were to pull your IM off after some decient amount of miles, the inside of it would have a fair amount of crap in it. So it can be done like that, there's just far better ways it can also be done.
