there are rubber thingies on the springs. im guessin thats the side i put DOWN when i do my install. someone tell me if im right or wrong or wtf to do. its not covered in the DIY. i wish it was!!!!!!
im talkin about the black rubber thats on the green part of the spring. so when the spring rubs on itself there is no noise. which way? tell me quick!

I'm pretty sure the rubber part goes on the bottom. I haven't dropped my car, so i dunno. This should be a good example. It's Eddieisaricer's car. I dunno what that brown thing is, guessing it's the rubber you're talking bout.
Well i'm 98.94% sure it's the same thing for the front. It shouldn't be any different. The rubber should sit on the bottom. Can anyone confirm this? Thank god my full coilovers will be arriving in about 2 weeks. I dont have to worry bout this.

The spring will only go I way, so dont worry.
You realy cant install them up side down, the struts wont assemble.
p.s. I think it might be late answer, but I realy dont attend suspention forum much.

Yeah, I went to install my rear springs like I had read to do - With the dead coils on the top. Go to put them, WTF! The diameter of the top of the non-dead coils wouldn't fit on the bottom. It was pretty self explanitory from that point as to which way to reassemble them
