cleaning springs? grease them?

i picked up my s techs today. they are a little dirty. should i clean them and how? and should i grease them before i put them on next week? what do i grease them with? i did search. this is actually not a FAQ
just want to make sure cause i want to do this right! thanx!

What reason would you have to grease a spring? Springs dont normally have wear points so no need for grease. As for cleaning them I sometimes will pressure wash the strut/spring when installing new struts if the old struts were blown and have oil/dirt all over them.

well, i see signs of wear, like where one part of the spring rubs on the other, and the green rubber coating is off, its only on a little part, but if it rubs, i KNOW there will be noise of some sort, so im wondering if cleaning and greasing them before i put them on will help reduce the noise
