using an older civic fuel rail?

I am thinking in buy a high performance fuel rail of an older civic (ex. 00 civic ex) and install it on my 01 civic and run a return line.

I am asking if my (7thgen civic) injectors will fit on an older civic fuel rail, beacause those injectors looks to be bigger (outside). The diameter of the injector and the o-ring are the same?

Won't be a direct fit. I took a look at my 05' and my cousin's 00' and the fuel injectors seem to be more spaced out on the 2000 civic.
But i could be wrong.
