AEM wideband O2 location

Ok, I have an idea on the distance to mount the O2 from the exhaust ports from Boilermaker1, but I was wondering if anyone has pics of their O2 mounting location? My car is an LX with a kamikaze header, but a pic off an EX will work too. Thanks.

It is recomended to have w/b o2 sensor somewhere near after narrowband o2 sensor, but before catalytic converter. This picture should work:

i THINK 18" min is recommended. My wideband is at the VERY bottom of my downpipe off of the turbo

Ok, I think I have it. The pipe that bolts up to the header will be the O2's new home. It's right at 24 inches from the head. I'll probably take the entire midpipe off tomorrow and have the bung welded on it.

YES he's sure
The ECU needs the stock narrow band idiot switch to function.
The gauge needs the wideband to function.
You need to have them both installed to keep the ECU and the gauge happy.

my car has 3 O2 sensors..... primary narrowband, secondary narrowband, and Wideband for my AFR guage. With certain Widebands they CAN be configured to replace the secondary narrowband sensor and suppy both the cars ECU and the guage with the proper signals

Typically you can configure the ems to run open loop. I'm not using a narrowband on my ems. Just run it open loop. Not to mention, setting up closed loop on ems really sucks.

Ok, I'm off to the muffler shop to get the bung welded on. I'm mounting it about 30 inches from the head ports. That should be about right. I'll post pics later if it don't get dark on me.

Thats 30" from the head ports?
Damn, my depth perception under the hood is incredibly out of whack. I haven't done enough work on the car this year.

Yeah, The length from the head ports to the bottom flange of the header is 24 inches. I just figured it was another 6 inches from the flange to where the sensor is.

Well, yeah so far it's working great. I've only been driving it for one day like this so I can't tell you how it is on the life on the sensor, but if I have any problems, I'll post it up.
