Retrofit- help me pick out parts
Alright, when I go home for winter break this year I wanna work on retrofitting my tyc's with an HID system. Ive read about this on the forums here, and I know that its possible, and I think it was mentioned that the audi a4 projectors are the best to buy because they fit in almost perfectly. I was looking at hidplanet.com to buy the parts, but im not exactly sure what I should be getting because its under a different name on the site.
I think what I need is the "Valeo ECE/DOT D2S/H7 Projectors" correct? Are any other of the projectors listed there that would work with the swap?
From there I know that I need a ballast and a set of bulbs. Which ballast would work with the projectors best? And then, what should I be looking for when it comes to bulbs (I want as close as possible to the s2000 color thats emitted)?

if you want s2000 color, get s2000 projectors. they're expensive, big, and probably won't fit in the TYC headlights without major modifications.
ballasts: get any OEM ballasts (pair). never buy a rebased/rewired ballast. try to stay away from ebay for ballasts because when you search for "philips" or "hella" you'll get a load of aftermarket HID kits with rewired Hella/Philips ballasts
bulbs: d2s. osram and philips are the only 2 companies that are "mainstream." i'm sure you can find another brand (GE?), but try to stick with what's tried and true. afaik, s2000s use osram 4100k d2s bulbs. bulbs are NOT expensive. they run around $70 a pair over at www.hidplanet.com (philips bulbs, but they're good, too).

The category that I listed above is under one heading "Valeo ECE/DOT D2S/H7 Projectors" So does that mean they're the same thing?
The ballast is the "Hella LVQ-212 12V Gen III Ballasts" correct?
Finally, the d2s bulbs are "Philips D2S HID Bulbs" right?
btw...all of this terminology was taken from the http://www.hidplanet.com/oem.html site, so thats where im coming up with these titles

Forget the s2000 projectors, I want to make this as easy as possible. If the other projectors fit right in, I'd rather just go with those

h7 are the halogen projectors and the d2s are the hid projectors. What you want? Projectors designed to use halogens or projectors designed to use hids?
Hella's are good because they tend to be small, so its easy to fit, but any oem ballast would work. Also your going to need a harness too. You can't use your oem headlight wiring or there gonna burn out.

Thanks for your help guys....
Since Im having trouble even picking out the parts I need to pull this off, I think I'm going to have to put this off until the summer. I think I need to keep reading about things like this so that I can learn a little more about pulling off this swap before I buy the parts, screw something up, and am out a set of headlights, and all the hid parts I bought.
