e-manage: Working VTEC on EXs?
Well, I have my jumper settings as in madwheels DIY for the EX. Rotary settings: 4-8-E. I have not done the wiring since I bought the PnP harness by Dezod.
VTEC Engagement at 4,300 RPM @ 100% throttle.
My e-manage was installed last saturday and yesterday I've noticed that I have that famous Error Code 14 (VTEC Signal Input error) on the main unit.
I'm used to test my car with this other 7thGen 5spd EX. I always pulled less than 1 car lenght. Today I ran with him again and I pulled about 1.5 car lenght from him 3 times.
I beleive that if there really were a problem engaging the VTEC, I should not be able to win that race, or also pull more lenght from him.
I would like to know if that error affects in any ways the functionality of the e-manage. It stills showing the changes from lo to hi at 4,300RPM, and by the time I ran that race, the error code was already there.
By the way, when I installed the e-manage and first tested the car, it felt sooo sloww on top RPM over 4,800. Then verified the e-manage settings and VTEC settings were not turned on. After turned on, the car did felt great again.
Could a VTEC Light be connected to the solenoid wire to check if it is working?? or this tells nothing??
Let me know what u think.
Thanks

My question is for people who actually knows something about VTEC on the D17A2. But FYI if you floor it and the cam keeps its low cam profile, you WILL NOTICE A LOT OF DIFFERENCE when you are used on how your car performs everyday, and as an EX owner, we notice when VTEC is NOT working. We know that it does not KICK HARD AT ALL, but we know that it will feel a lot slower if it does not work.
