can I use smaller air filter to increase torque on my cai?

Well .... I did it anyway. I bought the 2 1/2 ID x 3 1/4 OD x 6 length KN filter (it is a signaficantly smaller than the other filters) for $29, and intalled to ebay CAI.

It sounds throaty, and it pulls hard all around ..... I like it.

isn't that point of a CAI or SRI to make more air get into the TBI and not have a restricting filter? whats the point
