dc5, ep3, em2 and es1(civic sedan chasis code i think) shocks are all interchangable with slight modification. I think with your particular shocks you gotta drill one of the two holes on the bottom just a little. I can't remember but I'm using ep3 full coilovers.
I already have the ep3 shocks that are from my ep3. Its the wifes EM that has blown 01 shocks. She already has progress springs on so was thinking just to throw the ep3 shock on should have valving to support slightly stiffer springs. doin't want to spend $$$ on Tokico HP yet.

What year is your ep3? The earlier ones should fit with no problems, but they changed the shocks in 04 or 05 i think. They should fit with slight mods.
Ok this is what I have manage to scrap together in terms of info...
EP3 shocks 16x1.5 crash bolts
similar dimension top mounts
EM Springs can fit in the stock ep3 shock/strut
I am missing one piece of critical info
can a 01 EM with 14mm holes be drill out to use the 16mm ep3 bolts.
I think I will have to drill 2mm off of the Lower A-Arm correct???

You have to drill the knuckle, which can be done except for 2 likely problems....
1. its probably hardened, which is hell on drill bits
2. you need to drill dead nuts straight and centered or you may as well write it off as garbage. Good luck getting the knuckle in a drill press vise to the point where you can drill that accurately.
The easier solution is to buy struts with 14mm holes.
