Brake "knock" noise, exhaust "spitting" noise on '04 EX Coupe

I just bought a used '04 EX Coupe from a Honda dealership. Everything is pretty sweet with the car, I've noticed a couple minor things though:

After first starting the car (after its been sitting awhile), going down the street and applying the brake for the first time, there is a loud knock noise that comes from the front brakes (sounds like maybe just the front right), but after this, it never makes that sound again. And I don't notice anything with the brake feel or performance, I don't feel it locking up or anything either. Anyone had this? I've noticed some temporary brake noises like this in other cars after it rains, but this car is doing it no matter the weather.

Also, I'm starting to question the exhaust/engine sound a little bit. When coming off the clutch in low rpm's, I hear what seems like an exhaust leak coming from the front end of the car, it is a bit of a whizzing or spitting noise, like what you would hear on an old rice-burner, but after you get up to speed the exhaust note seems clean and normal. Anyone know what I'm talking about here, and is this normal?

well how long ago did you buy it? If it has been a short time, take it back to the dealer and have them fix it. You should have some type of warranty.

the brake noise sounds like the pads just shifting around. Mine usually do it first thing in the morning when I first brake and then goes away. Comes back now and then, but the new hondas have been known to have the pads shift around.

breaks making that noise is normal. It doesnt happen all the time. But I am curious about the exhaust leak. I think I have an exhaust leak because my catback exhaust is bent which prevents from lining up right to the axelback. I just left it like that. Can anyone explain the advantages and disadvantages of this kind of exhaust leak?

where they really arent any advantages of exhaust leaks. If you have an exhaust leak before the 02 sensor, you will be drawing in extra air and the 02 sensor will see an increase in air and richen up the fuel mixture. you will be getting poor fuel mileage as the PCM will richen the mixture to compensate for the extra air. now I think the same applies at the axle back if I remember correctly. But I am not really sure about one after the cat. It may be the same as when exhaust scavenging takes place, that extra air can be sucked in and pulled back through the exhaust.
