Cant wait to run my car this wednesday
Im hopping for a 15.99 or better sence i got the new header on. What do you gus think it will run?
The car is an 02 civic ex 5 speed with only mod Being an Hp Racing header.
The car stock went 16.1 @ 85 last time i went. If any one else is going to the track im going to orlando speed world dragway in bithlo florida.
the 16.1 was in hot hot weather so now sence its cooling off a little im hoping that alone will net me some good times.

Jeez, I went to bithlo Friday and watched a poor auto 7thgen run 18 flat as his best time LOL. And honestly, that header wont put you into the 15's, driving skill will though =)
Am I the only one who finds this extremely funny? Trust me here, I'm not knocking civics because I used to have once (hence the reason I'm still here) and still like them alot, but it's funny as hell that some of your are posting 1/4 mile times like 15.9 or 16.5 on here when you know it's a shitty time. We all know the civics are slow and all but they do look good in my opinion.

I have ran the car a couple of times and got 16.7 on the first try then 16.5 then 16.2 twice (16.7-16.2 All @ 84.xx) then finally at the end of the night i ran 16.1xx @ 85.00 flat with a perfect launch and very little well spin after slipping the clutch. I was so excited to see it barly hit 85 that night.
Thanks.
Civics are slow? I have one (my 94 with h22) thats is colder weather from 13s. If you are reffering to Stock civics then yes I agree with you. Best in it is 14.14 @ 97 and 98 with a slower time.
I dont find it funny. The car is just starting out. We all have to start somewhere. And My WIFE chose an 02 civic. I just want to play with it so its not so boring.

borrow drag radials for a day. Should shave a few 1/10ths off your 60'ft which will shave a few more off your overall 1/4
Believe me, i shaved .5 sec off my 60 ft and dropped my 1/4 by 1.7 sec.
On the stock tires, i was spinning all the way through 4th. My MPH was still somewhat low (98 mph) and my 60 ft was in the 2.5 sec range.
I cut my time down to a 2.0 and brought my overall MPH up to 102 mph due to real traction through the track.

On stock tires, a 2.2 60 foot is about as good as your gonna get. I havent' heard of too many people with good street tires get a 2.2 60 foot in our civics. Good luck with the 15.9. I think your gonna either need more mods to compliment the header, colder weather, or faster shifting to get it cuz your 60 foot is not gonna improve.
That is not an ordinary rabbit tis the most foul cruel beast

Well if i get a 15.9 i dont want to see any BS flags from you non belivers thats why i still hope people from here will be there. I mite run my h22 civic on friday maybe depending on money. It should go 13s @ 100 now that I got some new mods on it.
stock exs have ran high 15s before, but i am sure that they had optimal tire pressure and could drive better than average. So I think that without the header in cooler weather you could do it. Will you do it is another question
Well i said **** it tonight and worked on my 94 civic so I can race my friend this weekend. But I will be running it some time in the near future. Smuggler let me know how you did.
bgoetz high 15s is really good for a stock 02ish civic. Like I said I ran 16.1 @ 85 in hot hot weather in the summer here in florida. So if it was say 50* and 0 humidity Maybe i would have gotten a 15.99 or 16.0 but who knows. I do know I can drive better than most at the track. Im not so good on the street though. Funny how that works.

Are you sure that you want to make claims like that BTW: there have been a good handful of people to break 16 secs with bone stock civics. The lowest I have seen being a 15.8?? posted some time ago
yes i am sure i want to make claims like that cause i also drive some of my friends cars and have the record in there cars as well. Im not saying i am the best. IE My brother inlaw ran 14.6 @ 96 with his gsr i ran 15.0 @ 90 my first and only run. So not im not the best but im definatly better than most. I have olso ran cars at Desoto in tampa.

Alright I am done, the only thing that I will leave you with is to lose the chip on your shoulder because you ARE NOT NEAR as good as you think.
^ or just strip the **** out of ur interior. I did and to tell u the truth u might as well go all out and try to find every possible thing that can help. Try different methods of launching like with the e-brake. That hella helps
