So I just got back from the Civic Live tour. It was held at Randalls Island Park in NYC. They had the entire Honda line up there including all of the new Civic's. Not too many people showed up which made it really good for test driving. They set up a small autocross course to test drive the cars. Anyway I'm a city boy so I didn't know how to drive a manual trans but I still got in the Si and got it moving. The car is very forgiving but is a lot of fun to drive. I loved the seats and best of all, I know all of you will love the sound of this new motor. I was listening to the car as more experienced drivers went through the course and I swear that it sounds like a race car. You can get the tires loose fairly easily with all that power. Many of you might not want to turn the radio on just to here the engine rev. My only complaint was that the dash is very large and you feel like you're inside a minivan. I think that can be attributed to the low sloping windshield. It also seems like the 8inch subwoofer is located on the rear deck between the two rear speakers. The center armrest/console slides back and forth and has alot of storage space. The interior quality of the cars was poor but I overheard that they were all preproduction models and would be crushed after the tour was over. I'm guessing the finished porduct has a better fit and finish. There are still five more cities left on the tour so try to catch them. The new Si rules

thats awesome you got to actually drive the car and not take it on a little dainty course, thats waht i was picturing in La was like how you test drive a car and tehy say dont punch it, but if it s autocross in the new si i may just have to go

It's funny cause the cops were parked next to the course yelling at people "slow down it's not your car." I was cracking up cause they really couldn't sh@! to stop them. They tell you to take it easy on the tires but if you lay down a fast run, they usually don't care.

I wish I could give you a number but there wasn't anyone around to talk to except for the people taking pictures of the drivers. Actually the only person that I ran into was an XM satellite sales person and that sucked cause I have sirius. One thing that I did find out was that the Si will be for sale in December instead november like everyone thought.

glad you went. Thats good stuff. But yea I had those same complaints about huge minivan dash and cheap interior. It could have been a great car if they didn't change it so much.

Yeah I think they took the cab forward design a little too far but I'm willing to deal with it...screw it, now I can put my lunch on that big *** dashboard.

I hope the Civic live is like Mazda live , When i went to the mazda live it was like red line the hell outta them, 2006 MX-5 miata =). Theres gonna be a civic live in LA should be fun i hope =) You get to DRIVE the cars =)

Yeah I saw it too...looked a bit weak. They need to make a commercial where all you see is a blank screen with the sound of the Si engine reving thru the gears in the background.

I drove it a few days ago again and it flew. the stock 06 civic engine seems so slow after driving it. The car sounds so good, it's much loudre than I though honda would do.
