Today on WRC Wales Rally GB co-driver Micheal Park died from injuries sustained in an accident he and his driver Markko Martin had on SS15. Martin apparently went off road and hit a tree on the co-driver's side. Markko Martin was unhurt from the incident. Michael Park, 39, was co-driver for Markko Martin as well as Colin McRae and Richard Burns in the past. A very sad day in WRC, my condolences go to Michael Park's family, friends, Markko Martin, the Peugeot team and the whole WRC organization.

With my 20-year-old mentality, that's the way I want to get out of this world, not from a heart attack at 65 yrs old in a wheelchair. If that dude killed himself, that means even the best can f*** up during a competition and lose their lives, which is what Hemmingway said that about car racing as being among the three real sports, whereas everything else was just child's games.
He had the time of his life, but he had it coming. You don't drive a WRC car to watch the scenery...

Those people who die for our pleasure (and theirs) deserve all of our respect.
