06 civic ex swap into 01 ex....
I am not sure what chasis or engine they are using in the new civics, but does anybody know if you will be able to use the base ex(now Si) engine in a 01 civic EM2? I plan on swapping engines when i get my 01 paid off, i wasnt sure if they were gonna use the 02-05 si/rsx k20 series in them or what?
And if somebody could give me a link about the new civic and its specs i would apprecieate it. Sorry if its a repost to lazy to search.
Thanks,
Injen

you are going to have to wait for someone to make a mount kit for it, which they prob wont even do b/c its not that better then what you already have. the car just came out dude. its not going to be a direct swap, its a totally different engine; r18 v. d17. just get a k20 like everyone else and call it a day

R18, hmmm... i thought they were using the k20 series? Damn guess i will find an old k20 or k20a2. Wonder what the difference in the r18 and k20 are?

agreed . looking at the layout of the r series engine and trans, it is in no way near the same mounting as the d17. if your on a budget then do a k20a3 swap if not than a2 that sucka better performers all the way around.

i would just go with a K20A2 or K20A cuz the K20Z series are still rather new and hard to get a hold of...im might go with a K20Z3 which is the new 06 si engine but that is later when some stupid people crash it...but most likely ill be sticking with the current A or A2...i want the type R engine just cuz of the output factors and how much more advanced it is

heh yea the new 05 rsx-s has the K20Z1 with 210 hp and the new 06 si is the K20Z3 with 200hp...thats why honda pumped up the rsx to 210 so they wouldnt have a power struggle within the company...smart honda
