I got a speeding ticket in Montreal, but I live in Toronto and I never plan on going to Quebec again or living there. I was wondering if I should pay the ticket, and if this ticket will effect my driving record or insurance in Ontario.

I would say it would definitely affect your driving record and insurance in Ontario. If you don't pay it, you likely won't be able to renew your Ontario drivers license or sticker either.

thats how quebec suckers you, when cops do a speed trap they see your front plate, and immidiatly know your from "Onterrible" and know that fighting the ticket isn't worth it in time/gas.

How big is it? If its anything with points I'd make the effort to go to traffic court.

and if you dont pay it, you may not be able to renew your license. Regardless you'll have a collections agency on you for a little bit.

Its 260$ !!! I was going the HWY speed but in some part HWY limit changes to 70, u know that part when u pass over the bridge..., they caught me there, I guess I'll just have to pay it hoping it won't affect my insurance.

I'm assuming you did that through the Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue to Dorion stretch on the 20 .. thats a regularly speed-trapped strip for those not in the know. And its often that you do not see them until it is far too late - they have many niches to cover in.

Yea, it was crazy, they were stopping almost everyone on the road. lol I tried to play smart & turned into that Motel right by the speed trap, the cop followed me into the parking lot & stopped me when I was trying to get out of the car .
