just like how they made the mistake of not offering the 2001 IS300 a 5 spd manual...they are making a huge mistake not offering a manual 6 psd with the IS350....

The IS300 is a classic car that will never get old and will always be distinguished.... the new IS250/350 is just another luxury sedan that blends right in with the current cars in its class.

Just for clarification, they did not make a conscious decision not to offer the manual transmission in 2001. That was an outcome of internal wrangling over whether or not to offer one at all and it cost them the chance to offer it in the launch year. I couldn't agree more with you about them making a mistake not to offer the manual in the IS350.

As for the styling, I personally like it a lot. I know I like it a LOT more than the Bimmers.

i think the new IS250 and 350 are bimmer fighters, but not bimmer killers. Basically the car will appeal to people who had toyota's in the past and want some thing in the entry luxury level. Its not the type of car to really change the minds of 3 series buyers into buying a IS.

I think the new 3 series looks like a mini 5 series and the older e46 looked way better.
