Help with my new (used) car...

As I mentioned in another thread, my poor 2k1civic is gone...totalled out. I know drive a 1997 Nissan Altima.

I had BRAND-Y NEW snow tires on Honda Civic OE 14" Steel Wheels. I want to mount the tires on some steel wheels that fit the Altima so I can use them this winter. There is no other resource on the web that people know cars and are so helpful as 7thgencivic.com!

Here's the problem. I need to know what rims are out there (what car) I can get that will accept the 14" tires and bolt right onto the Altima. The bolt configuration is something like 4 x 115mm (I think?) Someone else mentioned 4 x 4.5" and I've seen a size 4 x 114.3 mm that looks about right. Problem is I'm not exactly sure. And, once I know the size, I need to know the particular car that has them so I can ask in a salvage yard if they have rims for a 'xx _____ whatever that might be.

Any help appreciated! Thanks!

Thanks, that first link was just what I needed. Apparently, I need 4 x 114.3 mm which includes 1990-1996 accords, and 1992-1996 preludes.

Now it's just a matter of finding someone who sells that configuration. Tirerack comes up short, I don't know why. They just don't sell them, perhaps because they are outdated? I'm searching myself, but any further links would be greatly appreciated!

Also, does anyone know:

For 195/70/14 Tires, can they fit on rims that are 5" wide or do they have to be 5 1/2" wide?

Just about all Nissan 4 luggers are 4x114.3. Just check your offsets, Nissan has been known to use some odd ones so they can share parts between cars. You can stick a 195 on a 5" rim, but if you're going junkyard hunting, you'll probably be able to find stock altima wheels. Also be sure that Altima brakes will clear 14s... I believe they came with 15s stock, so make sure you can fit the brakes in.
