I need a 2nd battery
I need a 2nd battery to hook up my control unit too. I'm tired of setting it up, and I'd rather it be on all the time. I dont care if it drains the second battery, somewhat. But my questions are:
1)How long would it take for a little display thats always on, to drain the 2nd battery?
2)Will this drain the alternator? I'm pretty sure it can be hooked up to not drain it.
3)Is there a rechargeable battery that I can get, maybe one that charges while my car is running? Or one I can plug into an outlet in the garage would even work fine, as long as the battery lasts 12-20hrs.
4)Any opinions on what I should do?
5)Anybody have a good deal on batterys? Preferably one that will last at least 5 or 6 months like this?
I have tried hooking it up to a switch, it works when it stays on all the time. But when I turn it off with the switch, and back on, it still doesnt work. Even if I turn it off before the car, and on after the car is on. Ive tried every which combination though.
Thanks
Peace
edit- I have a wire that goes to the 12v constant, ignition, and 12v acc.
the ignition is for the turbo timer I believe, thats the only thing that makes sense. Im wondering if thats whats causing the prob? Like a quick surge.

Do you think it will drain my alternator? And how long do you think it would last me with it constantly drawing 12v. Any way to recharge them daily, or get a battery that will work like that? If it lasts me a few months though, that will be good. I dont mind setting my car up in the winter time as much. Its just too hot to sit in the car with it off and set that up. no a/c, no air flow, 115+ degrees enclosed

well, will it work is what i want to know first, lol.
How long (estimate) the battery may last, and if there is a rechargeable option that charges off of house electrical outlets? like with an extension cord? if a regular battery lasts 3-4 months, thats chill too.
