Whats the best cat back system?

I just got a honda civic dx coupe because gas prices are going up the **** lol. My toyota X runner was killing my wallet. So needed a small car with good gas milage. Love honda products i had a 99 Si before giving it as a down payment for the X runner .Heres some pics of the X since no one seems to know what kind of car it is http://www.customtacos.com/ubbthread...&o=&fpart=1got i purchased some 17 inch rims and eibachs pro kit for the honda. IM looking for the bext cat back system for a 99 civic Dx Big difference from DX model and Si . i was looking at reading some reviews of the EVO2 exhaust seems to be the front runner. Also i was also looking for some headers but it seems i can find none for DX model NON VTECH. yOur help will help me out alot

I have an EVO II and it sounds awesome but if I could go back, I would have spent the $500 differently...Unless your are looking for sound, don't buy performance stuff for your car, just work on audio and looks. Trust me, you can spend 1,000 on I/H/E and get maybe 5hp. Just not worth it. Get some nice rims, a drop, tint those windows and hook up the audio and enjoy. That's just my .02.

YEah!!

whats the best sounding exhaust then ricey sound lol. I wasnt looking for HP more about looks and maybe handle a bit better in turns off ramps and freeway to be exact thats why i got pro kit and wider wheels. Car looks great already got it from one of my friends 99 civic silver black racing rims lowered suspension and all tinted windows and JDm style projection lights.

The EVO II for sound is the best IMO. It rumbles man, not ricey at all. It has a nice deep tone. My mom said it rattles the pictures in her room when I pull into the garage..

yeah that's about what I payed for mine. I forget how much install was, will not be much though. Takes all of about 10 minutes to install. Just unbolt the old one, and bolt that one up. Uses factory hangers and everything. I'm not sure about the header for a DX. I have heard Kamikaze is the best header for our car, but I have not researched it.

RS*R Ex Mag Catback exhaust all the way.
Best thing I've ever done and it's around the same price.
I ordered mine through True Honda for $509.
It's a very quality built unit, nice smooth flow, & nice welds.
It's a real muffler with a tip not those annoying coffee can looking things.
This exhaust sounds like a sports car. Best thing I have done to my car.

I was wondering the same thing. I would like a clean small tip (just like that) and I was looking at the RS*R ex mag, but I want to know how loud it is. I am going to be doing a lot of highway driving the next four years (to and from college every day) and DO NOT want any annoying drone, but wouldn't mind it sounding a little more agressive when I get on it. So how does she sound?

That sounds exactly like the RS*R. I travel alot on the highway aswell and it is very quiet, almost stock. Then when you step on it the exhaust opens up very aggressively but still sounds smooth. Best bang for the buck, you're not looking to dramastically change your horsepower or torque from this unit nor any other exhaust. I mean we have civics, lets face it.

But, yes this is by far the best exhaust I have ever seen on a little import.

there is no "best" exhaust system for our cars. everyones gonna have a different opinion. ive got an apexi gt spec. i like it. theres tons of exhaust systems for civics. just determine what youre looking for in these areas: sound, price, quality, and look.
