Smoke spitting Prelude...

My brother has a 99 prelude SH and it has been blowing dark gray smoke out of the exhaust for a while now. All he has done to it is AEM CAI and Apex'i Dunk exhaust. we figured it could be his old, dented air filter so we got a new one but smoke is still comin out. Could it be bad spark plugs, or something more serious? any help would be appreciated.

You should check if it burning oil. Thats the common cause of exhaust smoke

well since there is dark smoke comin out its gotta be burning oil. we thought by changing the filter it would help but it didnt, so i dont know what else could be causing it.

Change the oil filter, change the oil, check the head gasket for visible leaks. Do all the easy and cheap stuff before taking it to a shop. Have you noticed any power lose? Does the car make any different off-beat sounds?
