I have the greddy evo 2 and recently put the megan resonator on, these are the ONLY performance mods I have . . . no intake/headers . . .
I haven't had any problems when I only had the Greddy, but after the resonator install, my car doesn't really seem to be the same. When I let off the gas it kind of spudders and smells like somethings burning, I've had it for over a month now and I know it has to break in/gaskets, but damn . . how long should this take ?? Or is there something else wrong, and since the resonator the gasket between cat and muffler burnt and crumbled . . coincidence ??, but I replaced that. It also sounds ricey above 4,000 rpm's, but I've read that's pretty common. Cel is annoying, is the spark plug fouler the best way to correct that ??

Well for all of you with this set-up, any help would be HIGHLY appreciated.
This is just driving me crazy and I'm about to put the stock cat back on !!

I think the smell is normal, i just installed a resonator couple days ago.
My car doesn't "spudder" when i let off the gas though. It took about a day for the cel light to come on for me, now i have to find a place thats sells the fouler.

it smells bad because there is no cat ... the megan pipe replaces the cat with a resonator.

It doesn't seem like there should be a whole lot of smell, cat or no cat unless you have a leak. I had no cat on my last car, and it didn't smell, but it did make a sort of gargling noise when I let off the gas. It was kind of odd to get used to, but I don't think it hurt anything.

I would definitally check for leaks though.

of course its gonna smell... theres no cat and basically straight pipes. its normal for me and i been running the same test pipe for months.

as for sound, mine is prob diff. when i lightly tap the gas during idle (1000-1500rpm range), i could hear a ringing sound, but it goes away after those sections of rpm ranges. idk about spuddering, havent had any problem like that. check to see if the install is correct... could be a loose bolt?

how many miles have u broken it in yet? when i installed mine, i ran it pretty hard... try going WOT sometime? (but please be careful lol). ps: do it in a tunnel with no traffic around

^^^not trying to ***** this thread, but your guys are haring noises, when i rev my engine in neutral, when it revs back down to idle, it makes a clicking noise when it goes past 3000 RPM, is that like the vtec disengaging or something, i dont know, it makes a clicking noise

everything is tight, proper install. I'll have the megan header in about a week or so, don't know if that will change anything but . . . . we'll see. The connection from header to resonator does have a gap, but bolts are tight, those spring loaded bolts are a pain in the *** ! Anyone have evo 2 w/megan header and resonator ?? Just wanting to know about sound and performance ?
