Can anybody help, need specs for 03 civic stock stereo

I need help finding the basic info on my factory radio. ('03 civic ex 2dr coupe) I want to put a sub in the car, but I can't find the info on the radio, so I don't know if I actually need to buy a new head unit or not. Guys I talked to at best buy said no factory stereo has sub outs(?) which I think is b.s. so I will buy a new hu.

what you do is find the cables to the rear speakers and hook into them.. since you will want to bridge the subs.. you will need the left rear speakers positive wire and the right rears negative... remember if you wire them in that way they may sound distorted

and it will sound a lot better with a new head unit and an amp

Ignore the first part, just get a new head unit and amplifier.

you can get products such as the Phoenix Gold SLD44 or the JL Audio Clean Sweep that will let you run your speaker wires into the unit and get a pair of preouts out of it. ideally though, you should upgrade your head unit

Yeah I would definately buy a new head unit. I just bought some subs a week ago today. I ran them using a line level converter for less than a week before I bought a new headunit. Not only does it not sounds as good with the converter, your stock head unit doesn't have any built in crossovers or sub line level adjusters to make you system sound better.

ebencosme has a little shameless behaviour in the past
well go to best buy and get a HI-LOW Inputs for you're radio you will connect this to radio wire hardness just find the speaker wires to connect it if you want you're back and front speaker wires you can cut it and cross then out front-left with rear-left, front right-rear right. that way you won't need to run wires save u time... next thing is when you get evrything connected hope there won;t be no noise you will know what i'm talking about. you can adjust the HI-LOW for better sound but to get a better quality sound of you're stock radio get a equalizer or crossover.. well if you need more info AIM me at exterm8861.. i can help you out
