Accord vs IS300 & Civic vs 2003 Elantra
Anyways last night my sister came over to visit and she has a 2004 Accord Coupe EX (4 cylinder) which by the way is such a solid car and really makes you hate having a Civic LoL... so anyways im cruising through town in it when this yellow Lexus Is300 with 20 inch Spinners jamming up old *** Reggaeton revs at me... SO we both hit a stop light and once it turned green we go at it... from 1st to 2nd gear i pulled a half a car on him and once i hit third i pulled a whole car on him and was inching away..
Once i hit 80mph i slowed down and he quickly turned onto some side street...
Damn! All i have to say is that the new generation accords are such nice cars and are definently built a hundred times better then the civic, but then again that is why they cost around 8000$ more...
2002 Civic Lx sedan vs 2003 Elantra GLS
SO this morning im going to my eye doctor to pick up my new supply of contact lenses and im stopped at a light... the road ahead of me is a two lane road that is shifting into 1 but there is at least 2000 feet before it turns into one lane... So im just sitting at the stop light with this green elantra next to me with 17 inch gunmetal rims... and im thinking once it turns green ill just pass this guy and be on my way but the guy in the elantra was thinking the same thing so once it hits green i step on it and pull out first... then i can tell he starts to floor it, so I press on the pedal a little harder but still not flooring it, through 1st and 2nd gear i was up by half a car and in third i pulled a car on him. once it turned into one lane i started to slow down but the guy in the elantra went into the opposite lane and tried to pass me... this time i floor it and stay dead even... he realizes he wont pass me so he gets back behind me and stays there....
Honestly i was surprised that i could pull a little on the elantra because the elantra is 2.0 135 hp engine while my LX sedan is only 115 hp plus a cold air intake which probably gave me like a 1 hp gain at the most..
i guess those hyundai engines arent built that strong and probably lose alot more horsepower to the wheels than the civic....

the k24's in the accords are very well-built engines. a 5-speed variant can keepup/beat the 6thgeneration v6 accords (mind you, those were not very fast cars, but still a difference in the rated horsepowers and torque).
but yeah, the inline-6 inthe lexus is no doubt very good. mustve been an auto as well

well my sisters car is 5 speed... and the IS 300 was def an auto if i took it... but u also have to keep in mind that he had 20 inch chrome wheels with spinners which adds a decent amount of weight... also he had a loud system... well if the IS 300 would walk all over the Accord i guess he wasn't trying... but i thought he was especially since he reved at me lol...

There is no way you beat the elantra they have 150 hp and dohc and haul some good *** compared to a civic when i was n/a i raced one with all my **** on my car and i beat him by two cars while he just had an intake. I have a Aem V2 Obx Headers exhaust Aem Pulleys Act Flywheel because of that elantra i decided to go turbo because i knew my car would never be fast with bolt ons

the new elantra has 140.http://www.edmunds.com/new/2005/hyun...h.0.3.Hyundai*
so if it was a manual then it lost hp to the wheels. if the civic was a stick it had advantage.

IS300 - no way u gone to win. even is has 20s and system. I personnal race with one b4 and it is pretty fast car (220hp stock).
GLS - I would said it is pretty good race. Consider is has DOHC 135 @ 6000 RPM. Not much hp in between. power vs weight.
