Ok, pure newbie question here. Don't flame me

Is there a chip for the 1.7L non vtec engine out there? I'm not looking to buy one (don't want to void warranty) but i'd really like a little more power in the furture.

No unfortunately there isn't. You can get AEM EMS, but there isn't a performance chip that you can add to your ECU

Actually... there is no easy chip out there... But if you go to some one who knows what they are doing... they can chip your ecu... any ecu can be chipped.

Very true, but it takes a LOT of time and money to engineer and design a chip that is going to work well with an engine. Good point though, I didn't think of the custom route.

One more Q. What is the rev limit/speed governer?

So far i hit 160km/h on the highway but have no intentions of going that fast but just curious.

^^yeah, this is diferent depending on the model car you have...not to start talking about this again since there are many threads out there on this topic, but the EX I think goes the longest, like 130 mph I've heard, my LX goes only till 114mph then it kicks in.

custom you are prolly looking over $1000 EASY if not much more for a new chip.

good luck. cheapest thing is to do an EX head swap, get a Vtec controller and a new chip, or like EMS
