ok so i plan to put an exhaust on my car. wondering if it'll matter if i get dual exhaust or not. trying to find dual for the 01 coupe but can't anywhere. any suggestions. i don't think it would matter if it was dual or not cause there is only one exhuast manifold. i'm thinking cat back dual.

They look nice, but the Civic was made with one for a reason, it doesn't need dual exhaust. You'll just be
yourself in the end. Unless you're going for all show...

well on ebay theres a seller who sells an axle-back bolt on setup that includes 2 cheap DTM style mufflers...just looks like ***. It does come with a stainless Y-pipe and a left side muffler hanger, though. You could buy it then cut off the mufflers... but that isnt worth the 200 for the setup, anyway dont get it.
no companie makes a dual exhaust set up simply because its pointless. unless your strictly for show, but which most will still argue it looks like *** still.
theres a good reason why most/all manufactuers dont make dual exhaust for the d17

you could do it but you definately dont want 2-2/14 inch pipes hooked up to it, like to get proper back pressure youre gonna probably have to do 2 inch cat back goin to like 1 1/2's going up to each muffler. but ya i think it would look tight if you did it right, im thinkin about doin it myself eventually. nothin real ricey, probably just use 2 tsx mufflers so i get the classy oem feel. but ya lol you should do it i wanna see what it looks like and i wanna see if you get terrible loss of low end power even when using small pipes goin to the mufflers....

It's a fact that the only way dual exhaust will help is if your engine has a V pattern, not inline. It would be a true dual exhaust, not axleback.

I don't understand sorry. I know its a loss of performance on most 4 bangers if you dual it out. (and inline 6ers) Thats why you see 1000 hp supras with one huge exhaust, not two.

I've read that if you single out the exhaust on the s2k, you gain some performance
Well me personally i like the dual exhaust on most cars, it just looks great imo thats why i have it on my car i dont really care if i would gain 10 hp by making it single i just wanted to have something different from all the civics in town

Exactly, You are driving a civic. It yearns for you to not put another exhaust on it.

If you've got 2 separate exhaust manifolds it makes sense to have to separate exhaust pipes. If you have one exhaust manifold collects into one pipe (Like ours) it doesnt' make sense to split it back up again.
you know now that i think if it if you make the exhaust small enough then it shouldn't effect the performance any because it flows the same if you put huge *** 2.5 then yeah even single will hurt it
