Real Racing Oil: Motul
Many of you want the best of the best. There are endless arguments on which oils to use for better performance where it seems price is not even an issue. If you dont care how much it costs, here is Motul V300 pure racing oil and many of their other awsome engine oils. We use motul in our shop bike (600CBR RR) which rocks. WE on track days sometimes use it but its $25 per 2 liter can so its pricey.
On track days, with the car, we have used their v300 line of oil 5w40 and once the 5w30. Its great, it never burns, and really makes the car run strong and smooth.
Here is their website:
www.motul.com
just click on the car section and you can see for yourself. It is a European (France) based company. If you ever look at the many race cars, motul sponsors them. NOt to mention there is a Motul NSX Race car
.
Just an FYI from a real track experience on great oils! Its recomended as well by almost all ITR guys that have gone to the Expo and talked with other ITR guys
I may be trying to do a group buy on this.

THankfully I have a local supplier, but I have to post up, I use Motul's 8100 full synthetic in 5w40, and it's great. My engine runs super-smooth on it.

this is excellent oil for those who track. you are more than welcome to post a link to this thread in the auto-x forum. maybe you'll generate more traffic that way.
5W40? i can vouch that's the one for E36, right? lol
i mean, most european cars............
i'd stick with M1 5w20 though...........due to price issues... =)
maybe until motul are being carried by Wal-Mart

i recently purchased some 0w40 from motul, the guy that worked at the place said its perfectly fine for my engine. I read the back and it did say approved for audi VW etc..so i wanted to know...is this ok for my car? for d17? and yes i do a bit of drag racing, track is very rare, and lots of highway booting, so some input would really be helpfull
Well why did u use 0w40?? 0 is for winter. its gonna be very thin and take some time to reach proper viscosity. But it should be fine - the D17 is no different than any other Aluminum motor so its fine!
