Cai Injen Or Aem V2
Cai Injen Or Aem V2
I have an 01 EX, and I have the short ram AEM intake but I got a summer job and wanna change it up. I was thinking of getting the Injen CAI for the A/T or possibly the AEM V2. I think the INJEN CAI would give me the most performance but the V2 has my interest as well. What do you guys think? Which one is better?

The two intakes that make the most power are K&N typhoon and aem v2, 5.5whp, both short ram. Cold air isn't any better and you risk getting water in the engine.
thanks for all the responses, I know this is a stupid topic that get's asked a lot but I needed input.
Now, I looked at the V2's dyno on AEM's site, it appears to receive the 5 horses and more torque, I also thought it was a cold air intake (I saw that on some apps its a SRI and on some a CAI) what's up with this?
I have an AEM SRI already and its just okay, so that's why I'd like to waste my money for that itty bitty upgrade, I am fully aware of the money waste here but buying parts is an obsession of mine so yeah.
I'm guessing that the Injen CAI would be better, but I wish they had a dyno chart for the 7thgens, if you own a car with an Injen CAI let me know how it is, similarly if you have a V2 please enlighten me. Thanks!

injen cai makes more power on hotter days probably, on a really hot day with v2 u dont feel jack gains, but on a cold day, like night time when air is hella dense, you FEEL the kick wayyyy more. so if u live in cold weather better to get v2, if hot, i would get the injen cai, the v2 is just a short ram with better location for filter but still short ram and has two diameter piping one side is bigger while the other side gets smaller
The AEM V2 has two piping sizes. One outer and one inner. The theroy behind it is to create air turbuliance, or "vortex". In turn creating better atomization of fuel, at low and high idles. (reason for the two tubes) IMHO I'd rather go with K&N's FIPK. It's a standard CAI, with a heat shield. The install is simple, and the location of the filter is better protected against picking up water. (better than short ram, and non-shielded CAI) I'll see if I can dig up the Dyno sheet from my kit. If you are that set on picking up a V2, check out the Wepon R secret. Runs on the same principal, but tends to cost less.
*** EDIT ***
I bought the FIPK, after having a V2. If your looking for sound, go with the V2. If you are looking for better all around performance.... go with the FIPK. IMHO

I puzzled actually, cause the aem sri dyno shows around 6+whp, more than any other intake even K&N and v2. But I had it, and there was no way it gave that much gain. Felt like it lost power.
