I was just cruising along and I pass this guy in his TC pullin out just before the hwy. I see him get on it and eventually he catches up and pulls beside me. I see his girl in the car and I'm like ok. Let me show him and his girl what the little not so avg SOHC can do. So I try to get him to slow down cause I wanted to go from 40 in 2nd. Well I down shift into second not realizing I was going 55-60 and I start bouncin off the rev limiter. He thinks I'm trying to go and takes off, so I shift back into third and slowly real him in to a car length then he shut down cause of the turn. He had 1 1/2 head start. SO I'm like ok lets do this fair. Wait for the next straight and I pull up beside him. He's probally feelin cocky after my flub and jumping me. So we slow to about 50, this time I leave in third. Honk threee times and were off. Dead even at first then I slowly pulla half car on him. He shifts first and I pull slightly ahead on to 4th for me still about 3/4 car ahead. Halfway through fourth he seems to be sneaking up on me. Car ahead so shut down. Damn I just hope I didn't **** nothing up downshifting to 2nd like that. Don't like to do hwy runs cause my car is slow and doesnt have the power. It was worth it though especially since he had his girl with him. I would have ate him up from a stop or at the track though. That's where I gain my advantage on the launch.

if u were any higher, you couldve blown ur **** from downshifting that low at such high speeds. lets just say you got lucky u werent doing 80+ on 2nd

I dunno about that, 3rd gear from 50 in the lx/dx is slow as ****, I don't care what u got done to it, and that's right in the TC's powerband. it musta been auto

I know that's why I wanted to go from second. I hate third gear! And I hate hwy rolls. Not an auto heard him shift. This was with the passenger seat in and on 17's too. Stock TC's and even lightly modded are nothing great. I just wish it was from a stop. I am confident I would have pulled a bit more off the line. well I'm out for the eve. I'm sure I'll be on here to argue with some you tomorrow.LOL

I tried a few times to go from 50 in 3rd, and it's below 4K.... not too good. I once downshifted to 2nd from slightly over 60.... did bounce off the limiter for 1 sec, but the car is ok.

Ive raced 2 tC:

A purple-ish color on the highway, he was speeding to catch me, so when he caught up we ran. We raced from a 60mph punch and pulled on him by 1.5 cars @115mph. When I told my friend to get the camera out to record it this time (i love to have proof) dude did not wanna run anymore, .

On my way to some street races, a black tC was speeding to catch me, I was in 4th gear so I d/s to 3rd gear and was @ 50mph. We stayed @ that for about 3secs (seem like forever thou), I was waiting for him to punch it and... BAM, he did, so did I and I walked him in 3rd by middle 4th I had a car on him and than I shut down. We finally caught a stop two lights later, I asked if he wanted to run on camera and he said "nah, im cool dog" My friend said "why, you *****?", . The guy just said, "naw, just thought it would be a closer race"

Friday afternoon on HWY138 Pasadena I ran into a silver tC that had the license plate "RU TC". He ran up my *** so I d/s from 5th to 4th... but he got all that close to me and didnt wanna go, I paced him... try to get him to run, but he just kept talking on his cell

do have anything done to your lancer? Guy I work with is always taliking **** about my car and thinks his stock ralliart can beat me. Yet he never wants to race. He probally can't drive for **** like everyone else around here and the SOHC would own him. Have you been to the track? Any times? Too bad your not closer I would love to take a crack at your ralliart from a dig. You'd probally get me from a roll being you have more power. I dunno though, you beat those TC's by a 1 to 1 1/2 car and I had about 3/4 car so it might be close. My bro is stationed in Cali. Maybe if I visit him we can set something up. He's in Iraq right now so it will be some time.

Well I just ran a 15.6 last weekend with the temps in the high 80's(same conditions against the TC) and have run 15.4 in cooler weather on 17's so I don't know how it's hard to believe I won by only 3/4 of a car. I didn't say I killed the guy. It was close and I believe my times are close to what stock TC's run. I tried to follow him a bit to see if he had anything done and just to see if he was surprised, but he just kept driving and I never got the chance. Guess he was too embarrassed.

I have I/E, I never been to the track, im ok from a dig, but rolls are much easier for me. Avg RA can run mid 15's. Good drivers can do low 15's... good driver and I/E can do high 14's. Im in between good and avg... i say I could possible do a 15.3 w/ my setup

not always. I like my 3rd, it pulls quite nicely compared to stock. 4th even has the power I lacked before, sh**5th aint bad either.

4k on street tires 5k on DR's. Thanks. On another note these damn TC's are everywhere. Saw like 5 today. Guess thats good. Waiting for the next challenger. I issued a challange on a local site for any NA TC in the area to come get some at the track this friday. Going to the good track with the correct dates on the slips.LOL I might sell my dr's and rock the stockies with the new Azenis all the time. Tired of swapping out wheels. If I can pull a 2.160ft on 17" nittos I should be able to pull at least a 2.0 on the 14" Azenis, which would be the best I've pulled with DR's. I would also drop those .2-.3 that I usually make up running 14's, on the street all the time. Going sleeper. More power soon as well.

I've raced a Ralliart from a stop. I took him off the light by about 3/4th to 1 car length then he started creeping at 45ish where I had to shutdown because I had to makea left. You'll get him on the launch and since you have a MT I think that you can put him away. Good kill though.

tc's aren't all that great i raced a few at the track with my 17's and got bad wheel hop but I only lost max 1-1.5 cars next time i go out im putting my radials on and see how i do. Maybe ill surprise a couple of them

damn...i wish i had some civics around here that were'nt riced out. my tC runs civics...but they are all weighted down wit the ricey crap the owners smack on. thats not a low blow on civic owners...just a fact about this area. anyways. i'm runnin my friends aute ex wit i/e...i dont expect much of a challenge. who knows...he talkin big since he is about to put in his "resistor chip" (idiot). btw...my tC is stock 5spd... and i lost to 2 ralliarts...crappin fast for having the same engine ratings...thats where the 200lbs saved in weight pays off

Oh my god you will demoralize a auto vic . a 5spd vic and a auto vic is not even a close race so you should murder him and make him want to sell his car.
