TEIN SS clicks to 24?
So i got some used SS..and when i turn to the softest (left), i began to turn to the right, counting the clicks, and it ended up going to 24 on each one?
I talked to boilmaker about this, and he said its like that, and that effects only take place to 16 clicks. But then i asked 2 other SS owners, and they had no clue to what i was talking about....are these broken?

no..
if you take apart the top of a SS/flex/other tein w/ damper adjust
what it is... is a "bolt" w/ a allen head... that spins freely inside the "piston" part of the shock.
when its pushed down (turning clockwise) it pushes down on the damper rod.. increasing stiffness.. the max 0 is stiffest and wont go any further...
when unscrewing... their are ***** and a spring inside the head... each "click" is actually the top popping from the ***** setting into a hole.. 16 clicks is the MAX softness cause thats when the "damper rod" is as high as it can go.. anything over that is NOT GOOD. cause then you have a GAP between the bolt and the damper rod... when it needs to be supported..
i have EDFC and i can choose from 16/32 settings i have it set at 32.. BUT.. each of my click is half a click for yoy. i still have 16 settins but 32 possibilities..
anywho dont go past 16

I've got a set of Tein SS and I've noticed that it goes to something like 22-24 clicks, from full soft to full hard. I'm a little confused about it too. I'm not too sure if it's busted or anything like that.
Also, I only noticed this on the front. I think the rear is actually only 16 clicks.

i read the manual it came with and it said if you go past 16 you can risk damaging the struts... every time i adjust mine, i go full clockwise then adjust to whatever i want.. that i way i know i'm not goin past 16...

So, what should I do? Turn it all the way soft and then only turn it 16 clicks towards full hard? It doesn't make sense. I'm set all the way full hard, however many clicks that it. Turned the **** until it stopped.
I guess I'll have to call Tein SS and find out what exactly the deal is.

Hold up. Going to the right is STIFF, going to the left is Soft. So you saying to go full Stiff...and thats the max stiff...then click 16 to left to get full soft, etc. Use any between there?
Yea, click to the right until you cant click anymore..... when you cant click that means you'll be at full stiff. THen if you want softer go from there to the left..... but dont go past 16 clicks to the left when you're at full stiff.

full clockwise is full stiff, and that's how it came from the box (according to the manual).. 16 counter-clockwise is full soft without 'damaging the damper' according to the manual.. i go full stiff and then adjust from there just to be on the safe side.
so, yea.. what you just said is what i do just to be on the safe side..
