old school vs. new school 2
old school vs. new school 2
back again! going to work and got to light with two turn lanes. one is about 1 and a half car lenght ahead from my lane. and on that lane sits a 2000-2002 si all blacked out. admiring his car and looking hard at his rims wishing i got it on my car. anyway, light turned green and i eased up about 1 car lenght and he took off
so i said f**k it i rev up almost redlined my car on 2nd, shifted to 3rd and i was still behind him(mind u he was i full car ahead of me and his car got intake, exhaust and maybe whatever else! so i know hes pissed
cuz he got all that stuff and a full car length and STILL im behind him. i figured all that mods i would be left in the dust! so ihave the chance to pass him(recklessly on a turn lane) and i said nah!
i already proved my point and turned into my job. cant wait for my mods and maybe next time it wont be pretty for him.

DOHC Vtec> I-Vtec anyday... If u didnt notice, a 1.6L was just as quick as ur 2.0L... good old DOHC Vtec cars... to bad they are slowly going extinct...
Might want to state what body style it was, cause 2000's are different from 2001+.

^^ you really believe so? Well, comparing the B16 and a K20A3 isnt too fair.... K20A3 doesnt have the same style VTEC as the old B-series. Perhaps comparing a B18C5 and K20A would be better. I think so far the high rev, variable exhaust and intake K series motors are responding well to mods.

i dont even consider SOHC vtec's Vtec. They are lame. I meant DOHC Vtec's cause i said that throughout my post. But anyway, i was just pointing out how a 1.6L DOHC vtec, hung with a 2.0L i-vtec.
Furthermore, a 1.6L DOHC vtec, makes jsut as much power as the Civic Si's 2.0L I-vtec.
(on a side note, for me there is a 2001 civic Si, as i live in canada. there was no 2001 SiR here).
Anyway, DOHC vtec ( such as in the RSX type-S) is far supirior to any i-vtec engine.
Sohc-vtec's are a write off, and is more for gas milage than performace, much like the old d15 sohc-vtec's.

b16 > k20a3
Ive ran both sI coupe and ep3 hatch, and only the sI coupe gives me a match, nothing agaisnt the ep3, but just don't have the ***** the sI coupe has. IMO vTEC on the b16 is nuts, i-VTEC on the k20a3 is a joke... atleast when I ran them.

first off the kid u ran didn't know how to drive, second, the ivtec kicks in around 3300 and is designed for more low end torque, where as the regular vtec kicks in around 5 and delivers more of a punch but for a shorter amount of time

There is only ONE company that makes ONE cam for the K20A3. Why? Because it’s a retarded design with poor head flow. On top of that it’s not even true DOHC. The K20A2 is the new hawtness, but the A3 is the retarded step child that somehow escaped from the basement and is not a walking embodiment of Honda's shame.
Also the EM1 Si isnt very fast with just bolt ons. High 14s. Whoopdie fawking do.
I can tell you this. I got to romp an EP3 Si around an auto-x track (stock). Other then the seats, the thing sucked absolute *****.
