Will a header increase the sound of a Greddy EVO2 Exhaust??

Ok,

Recently I took over my wife's civic (2002 Civic EX 2-door Automatic). I have installed the following things:

1) Injen Cold Air Intake system (Very Nice).
2) Upper Front and Lower Rear Strut Bar (Chrome).
3) 17" Ion Alloys Wheels with 215/45/17 Falken 512's (Very-Very Nice)
4) Just ordered the Greddy EVO2 Exhaust (Didn't want anything too loud - Should be here next week)

Now I'm thinking of getting a set of AEM True Pulleys Kit and a header of ebay.

The question is? WILL A HEADER INCREASE THE SOUND OF THE EXHAUST??

Since I don't have the exhaust on yet - I do not know how loud it will be but from all the research done here - the Greddy EVO2 exhaust is not that loud.

So header will help with the power increase and not affect the loudness of the exhaust - then I'm going for it since I can get one on ebay for about $50-$75 bucks.

So once again - Will a aftermarket header increase the sound of a Greddy EVO2 exhaust?

yes... the better flow properties of the new header will increase the sound pulses.

yes, your exhaust will be louder with header. Also if you get the aem pulleys, just use the power steering. I took off my alternator pulley after it fried. Underdriving the alternator will keep it going non stop until it burns.

Ok - so a header will increase the sound of the exhaust. Makes sense since you are getting more air flow through the Header just like with an Air Intake System.

I guess the main question is how much louder will it be. Will be be INSAMELY Loud - like if you ran a staight pipe with no Catalytic Converter or will it just be a deeper rumble.

I guess after I install the Greddy EVO2 exhaust and it's not too loud, I'll get the header but if the exhaust is loud enough - then I'll just skip the whole Header Idea.

As for the AEM Pulleys, even if I'm running the stock stereo - should I still skip the Alternator Pulley. That kind of sucks since the kit comes with both and you can't just get one for half the price.

I've seen some other No Name Brand Pulleys on Ebay but am afraid to get those. I here AEM are pretty good with our civics.

Thanks,

I have just a header with stock exhaust and I can hear it rumble sometimes. So it does make a big difference. If you're fine with how the exhaust sounds, skip the header, or just get a DC sports if you want it for looks. It's basically the same as stock. Just use aem power steering pulley, no alternator. No crank pulleys at all.
