Do I need repeat Schedule A maintenance? (2002 Civic EX)

Hey,
Was at my Honda dealer yesterday because my trunk's springs have loosened to the point they need replacement (last day of the warranty is tomorrow). Anyway, they also mentioned I was due for "Schedule A" maintenance. My question is, I had this done 1 year ago and have since put on maybe 7000 miles. Do I need this or are they just trying to scam me into something other than an oil change? Also, any suggestions on a place to buy OEM brake pads?
Thanks a lot,
E

Car off, hold the odometer button, turn key to "on" (dont start the car), wait 5-10 sec's and "Maintenance Required" light will be turned off. Start car or turn off.

This is of course if you have the light on in the 1st place.

update

Thanks for the replies - was on call last night so didn't have time to respond. The "springs" are the crisscrossing rods on the ceiling of the trunk. these seem to have weakened to the point of being useless with normal wear and tear (and no spoiler). I'm under warranty so they are ordering the part and replacing them.
Thanks for the comments on Schedule A.
Also, if I can bug you - where can I get OEM front brake pads in DC/online? They sell the pair for $91.
Thanks,
E

Just ask the dealer to do a brake chage, it is 90$ including front, back brakes. Personnally I think it is reasonable because if you try to get hawk pads, they are areound 70$, and it is just the front, and you have to change yourself. Also, doing a real drum brake pad change is huge pain in the ***. Just check the DIY and you will see.

The reason I was asking about price was because the dealer had quoted me a total of $250 for changing all the brake pads a while back. Ended up changing them myself (with a friend's tools)...long story but I want to get OEM pads instead. I guess I can also call other dealers and check on prices. I thought this might have fallen under warranty originally because my car had failed inspection due to poor brake power on a front brake after less than 20,000 miles but no go.
Thanks for the replies.

Torsion bars are better names for the springs. And yes they do brake very easily if you put a big wing on or something. You will notice the trunk almost pops open when you pull the lever when it is in stock form, you put a wing on it and it doesn't pop open anymore. If you buy the OEM wing, it comes with new springs to compensate for the added weight.
