Do I need repeat Schedule A maintenance? (2002 Civic EX)
Do I need repeat Schedule A maintenance? (2002 Civic EX)
Hey,
Was at my Honda dealer yesterday because my trunk's springs have loosened to the point they need replacement (last day of the warranty is tomorrow). Anyway, they also mentioned I was due for "Schedule A" maintenance. My question is, I had this done 1 year ago and have since put on maybe 7000 miles. Do I need this or are they just trying to scam me into something other than an oil change? Also, any suggestions on a place to buy OEM brake pads?
Thanks a lot,
E

Car off, hold the odometer button, turn key to "on" (dont start the car), wait 5-10 sec's and "Maintenance Required" light will be turned off. Start car or turn off.
This is of course if you have the light on in the 1st place.

update
Thanks for the replies - was on call last night so didn't have time to respond. The "springs" are the crisscrossing rods on the ceiling of the trunk. these seem to have weakened to the point of being useless with normal wear and tear (and no spoiler). I'm under warranty so they are ordering the part and replacing them.
Thanks for the comments on Schedule A.
Also, if I can bug you - where can I get OEM front brake pads in DC/online? They sell the pair for $91.
Thanks,
E

The reason I was asking about price was because the dealer had quoted me a total of $250 for changing all the brake pads a while back. Ended up changing them myself (with a friend's tools)...long story but I want to get OEM pads instead. I guess I can also call other dealers and check on prices. I thought this might have fallen under warranty originally because my car had failed inspection due to poor brake power on a front brake after less than 20,000 miles but no go.
Thanks for the replies.
