Recommendations for STOCK-like shocks?

Hi guys,

I'm feeling out the price I'd have to fork out to get some shocks into the 2001 Acura EL with 100k. (should use same suspension as 2001 Honda Civic sedan)....

Front shocks replaced recently, however the backend is giving off massive "thud" sounds, so I'm assuming they're blown.

- I do not want/need coilovers, or adjustable shocks, or airbags. I will be running stock suspension, stock 15" alloys, at stock height.

- What price would I be looking at koni reds? (non-adjustable) Do these even exist for 2k1 Civics? All I read is people mentioning the yellows (adjustable)

- What's the CHEAPEST solution for a decent stock ride feel? KYB? Koni? Canadian Tire brand? OEM??? I'd prefer a solution that doesn't screw around with OEM front shock modification.

- What kind of pricing do you think I'll be looking at for install?

- Are there any other suspention components I would need to worry about besides the actual shock absorbers?

- What are used stock shocks worth? (assuming not blown) I'll have to figure out how much for install... Someone is selling stock shocks.... front is blown though.

- Is it wise to change springs at the same time??? I think my springs are fine...

I use KYB AGX shocks.. and when I had them on 1... they felt better than stock. That's because stock shocks have rebound when going over potholes and those expansion gaps on the 401 on bridges...

Get those.

Quickie bump guys... Any other recommendations?

As well...Should I be replacing my springs at the same time???? I don't care for anything other than OEM ride quality/height.... Just that the damn OEM shocks blow too fast.

Don't bother changing springs if you want OEM ride quality and height. Changing your shocks will definitely help though. KYB and Tokico Blue would be more economical than Konis, not to mention that you don't need Koni adjustability or stiffness.
