How much soft springs alone will help?
How much soft springs alone will help?
Hey all
I have stock 2001 civic (Very low milage). Suspension, shocks and everything is in perfect condition.
Now the problem is I feel shocks are very hard...... here in pakistan we have bumpy roads. So I was thinking that soft shocks would be better for smooth rides on our bumpy roads. (On wierd thing is that these Civics are locally assembled, and still all civics here in pakistan have hard shocks/springs).
So today I went to workshop. He told me to just change stock springs to other soft springs. He said these soft springs will cause about 1" low.
So I wanted to ask that just by installing soft springs can I make my ride more comfortable? Or do I have to change shocks too?
Any negative effects of soft springs and lowring car? Right now I have 195/65/15 dunlop tyres.
Any help will be appreciated.
Regards,

As fas as I know, you cant get any softer then stock. The only thing I can think of is to get bigger tires that have a taller sidewall. Or, heat the springs up so they'll lose some of their tensil strength... but I wouldnt recommend that and you'd really have to know what your doing.
