well since ive done what i have done... now i don't know what i want for the future... should i get a custom turbo kit and later build the engine, or just build the engine for all motor... 12.5 to 1 compression, ips cams... all that good stuff...

I say build first, turbo later... or, turbo first, tune next, build later.

all motor. you have the dispacment for it. add some hi comp pistons, hd rods and those cams. you will be set to run. if thats not enough then a little spray goes a long way.
I have gotta be there for the time this thing heads down the track.

There is a guy that is building a tsx engine in his rsx.... He is building it n/a I want to see his results are.... But with this much traction problem... What would happen if I turbo and have 400+ hp? It be pointlesss... I would have no traction what so ever....

heres a question for you...
do you want to go 10's or 12's?
Thats probably about the difference you will have when comparing NA to turbo. You would have to make a lot of power to go any faster than mid-low 12's. Do you think you can do it NA? The car will need the best porting money can buy (not KMS or any large company like that).
With NA, you will need pistons and rods, a ton of port work, and hours upon hours of tuning to go low 12's. With a turbo, you will need the turbo kit and some tuning to do the same. But then if you add pistons and rods and some portwork, you just got a hell of a lot faster.
My fastest NA civic friend went 11.40 (95 hatch, GSR)
My Fastest turbo civic friend went 10.20 (96 civic hatch, GSR)
Those are both "street cars". The NA one has a hard time on the street (detonation issues). But the turbo one drives 45 miles 1 way to work every day.
My fastest honda friend went 9.60 (96 hatch, GSR turbo)

doubledeuce2k2 : do u understand the amount of tq i am getting? its a 2.4 liter engine...
i would like 11 or 12's, you see those motors are 1.8 liters... i have a 2.4 i will make alot more tq and hp than they will ever be able to make, and easier. i don't have to rev to 11k to get my full hp... if i can make this much hp with bolt on's only, imagine if i build the engine.
those engines with bolt ons don't even make the amount of tq that i have. im making about 60 more tq than a k20 is making with the same bolton and tunned
218.3 hp and 185.5 tq
a k20a2 will be making about 215hp and 116 tq

you've already got the low end torque...
why not go turbo and make it even faster at the high end of the spectrum??
i say a mild bit of boost will do wonders on the car....
N/A is cool but it will cost a lot more to get that car where it would be with a little boost....
Your cars gonna sound like fart canon N/A... lol... j/p...
i say boost just cause of the easy HP and less downtime + cost

Simply put. N/A = Expensive for decent gains.
Turbo = cheap huge power.
I regret going n/a on my old b18, i spent over 6000 canadian on the engine, and only hit 13.8's. Now if i went turbo i coulda went 12's for half that price. its a mistake ill never make again.
And no, u cant build an engine for n/a then switch to turbo, the internals for both engine are TOTALLY different. From cams to compression. N/A stuff with a turbo = bomb, thats y people that stick turbo's of Integra type R's with stock pistions are just dumb. its a bomb waiting to go boom.

A quote from honda-tech
"When going N/A (allmotor) it's important to realize that you're choosing the hard way. There are no two ways about it, N/A is one of the most difficult routes to get extreme power out of a car, and respect for it by other importers. This is part of the draw to it. Everyone expects a turbo car to be fast, everyone expects that if you are on the bottle that you should turn good times, but when you bust out a mid 13 second run on full interior, or lay down a low 12 on a stripped out car, there's something about being able to say "hell yeah, that's pure motor baby... pure motor."
hondaluver props to you for going n/a, I can't wait to see what your motor puts out.

in order
1. fully built head
2. fully built bottom end
3. then TURBO so u can run high boost and make high numbers.
thats what im doing with the d17. im on part 2 now. i wanna run 15-20 psi daily. its gonna take me alot of money and parts but i wont give up on the d17. imma try to get 300whp is my goal then i already of n20 so then 100 shot so 400whp. gonna take me a few yrs and alot of custom parts but im gonna try.
and dont tell me im wastin my time and money and its not worth it. thats the part of modding to try and research and i wanna be the one who successfully built a d17 with lots of power. we will see. in 2 yrs ill be a nurse so ill be makin 40/hr + so money wont be an issue just custom axels, tranny, etc.
