full cat back exhaust setup with headers and downpipe?
full cat back exhaust setup with headers and downpipe?
i'm just confused on the whole exhaust setup. i wanna buy a cat back exhaust, i'm just not sure of how the whole setup really works or what should i do with my setup? I'm buying a magnaflow catback exhaust (i need something quiet), no its a cat back, but i've also got headers as well, now can i leave my stock downpipe and stock cat on or should i change those too?
Like if i leave my stock downpipe, is that okay or will i lose performance/hp or with my cat?
I want something nice, with maximum performance but nothing crazy at all?
Best bang for the buck kind of thing...
fill me in...thanks....

Yes u will lose alot of power threw your cat. and make sure u replace the stock downpipe too. I will say this again, because ive already said this about 100000 times. If ur gunna get exhaust and all that, MAKE IT ALL THE SAME SIZE. its like running water threw a hose. if 99% of the hose is 3 feet in diameter, but 1 section is 1 inch wide, then ALL the water MUSt get threw that 1 inch piece regardless of how big the rest is. Your exhaust is the same way. So if ur exhaust is 2" make sure u get a highflow cat, and a matching 2" downpipe, and a header with a 2" collector. If ur exhaust is 2.25", make sure everything matches that! DO NOT go bigger than 2.25" or u will LOSE power as apposed to making any( unless u are boosted). THis should answer your questions, but if u need more info shoot me a PM and ill be happy to answer and questions 4 u.
