good idea to take off intake silencer?

Hey wassap guys/girls, i have a 05 Civic Ex Coupe and wondering if its a good idea to take off the intake silencer and just leave it like that. Of course im gonna get a short ram or CAI intake soon but need the money first but just wondering if it would b a good idea. i have taken those things off on other cars and not having any problems just its loudness. looking at it out of the engine bay it seems as tho the hole where the silencer hooks up to the engine leaves the intake sucking up direct heat from the engine. Wanting to do something badly and wondering if this is okay to do and wont harm my engine besides the hot air goin in.
