Anyone upgraded their tires w/o any suspension mods?

I want to put an end to my car's drifting problem. It is so hard to control on the highway and the car is floating all over the place. It needs steering corrections all the time and it's very tiring to drive.

I want to know if this is related to the tires and anyone notice an improvement after switching to better tires? ppl that lowered their car doesn't count as that will certainly improve the handling. I want to know if tires alone will make any difference.

Dude, as soon as you change your rubber you will notice a huge difference from the garbage firestone 15". Change the tires get something nice like Miche's or Toyos or Yokos or even the cheap performance tire that is good Kumos and you'll be laughing....

Your car probably needs an alignment.

I would say get some new tires for sure.....Kumhos are excellent for the price and I had a big smile on my face when I took that first turn with the new tires on...they rock !! But if your car is drifting all over the place, you may need to check the alignment and/or tire balance.

The thing is my alignment is fine! I've got the front alignment done (but not the rear yet)...and I didn't notice any abnormal tire wear. But I'll be putting on new Bridgestone RE950 tomorrow. Maybe I'll get my rear alignment check as well. Thanks guys.
