Show Car
Show Car
I am a new owner of a 2001 Civic EX. I am wanting to start to get it ready for some car shows in the next couple of years. I'm not really into racing, since i had to get an auto. I was wondering if I should still do engine work if all I want to do is have it in shows. Thanks for any input.
A couple years is a really long time.....
you would want to dress up your engine bay to make it looks nice but I dont think turbos or anything like that is very importent at most car shows. You might want to get your typical intake/header/exhuast set up just for looks/sounds.

Nah my friend here told me about it..........I dont have one never did when i went to shows
first of all, clean engine bay, real clean, paint some of the parts, add some chrome, either custom, or bolt on items, add some goodies to trunk, system, few goodies to interior, lower it, rims then bodykit, depends on what class you won't to compete in, just my 2cents worth, lol

you're gonna have to do alot because they judge different categories. Engine mods, exterior (should be aggressive, parts to set it off from the rest), clean not dirty, audio setup, creativity points, etc. I lost alot of points because even tho I had a full page of mods almost, the car looked too clean and not all tricked out.
I dunno, it just depends on what your looking for. I'm going for a more clean look so I'm not expecting to win a lot of stuff. I fix my car the way I want and when I go to a show i'm not expecting to win, I'd like too, but i'm not going to get my hopes up. I could never fix up my car just to win car shows. It's about the same as fixing up your car just to impress other people.
