By any chance, is there a speed governor on the 2002 Civic LX's? If so, How would I disable it? Because I have a stock civic, and one time I was on a highway, floored it in 5th... And topped at around 112mph. Just wondering, maybe that is all it will do... HAHA

The search button is located to the upper right hand side of your post. Simply type "speed limiter" or "governor" in that box im sure that you can locate a few answers to your questions, as this has been covered a few times. a moderator will likely lock this thread pretty soon because of the frequency that this question is asked.
BTW; you are right, there is a governor between about 110-120 for every 7th generation civic.

again, I highly doubt it. your speedometer may read that fast, but you are probably doing more like 120, so i urge you to prove it. (safely of course, lol, if that can even be done)

i have an 01 civic EX and on the turnpikes i can get that up to about 128 or so. i usually run out of road errrrr something along those lines (traffic, pigs, the usual....) that i have to slow down but i have lots of RPMs left over. yes we may have speed limiters on our cars but i do not think it relevant b/c it seems like none of us ever go that fast anyway.
My HX manual hits a governer at ~115, and for those who don't know the HX has a whole lot higher gearing than the EX, that is I hit 115 in 4th at something like 5300rpm.
An ungoverned EX won't ever see 135 with just IHE unless it's got a serious tailwind, on a 6% downhill grade.
(all gearing is for manual)An EX is geared to ~150 give or take with tires, whereas an HX is geared to ~185. Again all in theory. Above 100 mph an HX might even have an advantage given that 3rd on an HX is good to 112 whereas 4th on an EX is only good to 115 allowing the HX to stay in the power longer and eliminating a shift. I've never raced an EX personally to that speed, but I did outrun my buddy's DX in the desert, we paced to about 108 and then the DX just ran out of steam while my HX was still going.
Most people don't realize just how much hp it takes to pick up speed over about 110. It took me several miles of dead straight road to top 140 in a '01 S2000 at sea level, the numbers were crawling up at that speed and that car's making about double the numbers of your EX plus it's Cd is likely better.
On a side note, I now use an EX tranny on my HX engine when I race for the lower gearing, we learned that unless you have the musallanne(sp?) at your disposal there simply isn't enough space for a 7thgen to top out on any west coast road course.
To all HX owners, when your clutch goes, sink the ~600 for an EX tranny and a lightened flywheel and go eat EX's and DX's all day long, we're 200+lbs lighter than the EX's and we get better gas milage

my stock 90 model prelude si automatic topped out at 135 and my 05 civic 5spd tops out at 112 there is something seriously wrong here i know one is a prelude and ones a civic but there is 15 years and better gear ratios in my opinion honda could have done alot better in the horse power department
