Close call tonight

Me and a friend were on the way to a soccer game tonight in my mom's mini-van (my car is in the shop, as some of you may know), and we pulled up to a stoplight and some old toyota with an aftermarket exhaust hanging off at an angle pulled up next to us. The light turned green and I took off quick, but didn't accelerate hard. I guess that was enough to get him going, so he starts revving high through first and second, so I decide I'll just keep up with him... We get up to about 75 or 80 and I look over and the only other car coming the other way happens to be a cop car. We both hit our brakes and the cop whipped it around over the median! He put on his blues and I was like ohhh ****... I put on my blinker because I was turning onto the freeway, so I proceeded at about the speed limit onto the on-ramp... I was watching as he came up behind me and the other guy, praying he wouldn't follow me. Luckily he went after the other guy... I was going crazy.

Of course he went after the car as opposed to the van, but I was shakin in my boots at the time. I was in the right lane too.

As far as who "won", haha, I wouldn't really call it a run because, well... it's my mom's mini-van hehe. 220 horse v-6 I believe, but... it's a mini-van. It's even red, but... it's a mini-van.

Anyways, that was crazy, we may or may not have been doing like 30 over, but it was in a non-residential area where the speed limit is 35 only because of pre- and post- work traffic.

Oh, and we won the game too, 5-1. Some kid on the other team got a yellow then a red because he was complaining to the ref and wouldn't shut up... What a night of comedy...

my math says 40-45 over, not 30.

you have 6 posts so i doubt many people knew your car was in the shop.

this sounds like a dumb lesson. you deserved the ticket as much as the other guy. next time stop at 40, i'll think you're the better person.

Haha give me a break... it's not like I was weaving traffic or pushing the limits, the cop car was the only other one around.

And somehow I don't think number of posts is directly related to the number of times people have read my topics, though it didn't get many replies.

So step off the forum newbie will ya?

Yes, rolling the mini-van... going in a straight line... too bad, too bad.

Yeah I was amazingly relieved after I was safe, though I didn't go so far as to relieve myself.

I think you guys are a little confused he said step off the forum newbie, meaing cut him some slack.

I thought I was screwed today too, I was going to get my brother from school and right after this 4way stop there is a little twist and I get up to about 30. keep in mind im not being reckless, i know its a school zone and it's 20, but the middle school had been out for 25min+, no one was around, and the highschool wasnt out yet.. neway, im up to 30, I see a cop, slow down, while im being timed. (radar was goin nuts) and then I pull into the lot, but I see the cop with his signal on right before I pulled in, I was like ohh damn luckly I think he was only turning.
