removing tint?

just got a lousy window tint ticket and need to take it off so an officer can sign me off. ive talked to buddies where they used a basic razor to shave off the tint and just peeled it off as soon they got a deep cut. is this a safe procedure?

if no, how much would it cost to remove 2 windows with tint?

haha, i just got busted the other day too. He gave me 5 days to take it off or he would cite me. Just put down ur window a couple inches. Find a corner of the tint and peel it up with a razor blade and tear it off in 1 sheet.

The hard part is the glue.........gotta scrape it with the razor blade.......it will take a long time.

ex_03 is on a distinguished road
I used a hot air gun from wagner(cheapo)to get the tint off, then I used car wax to get the glue off.
there's probably an easier way. Check a tint forum.

would goo-gone be useful for the sticky adhesive part?
the sticky stuff is most likely on the border outline of the tint right?

I got a ticket before, but the ticket was like 20 bux less than if I took the tint down on the front windows and had them re-done...so i left it and paid the 40 dollar ticket. the cops in my town don't care at all, some tell me my car looks good, but this little borough town nabs people for EVERYTHING. everybody hates that town. by the way...sorry man

i removed tint off the side windows 5 minutes max
1st: tear the tint off
2nd: spray the heck out of the window w/Windex
3rd: take razorblade and scrape window till gone
if not removed completely follow steps 2 and 3 again till it is

Happy Scraping

Amonia. Make sure you are in a well ventilated area. But spray/wipe/or put it on however you feel I suppose, let it sit a little, and you should have no problem peeling it off. I have not tried this myself, but I have a buddy that worked at a custom shop and said thats what they do. Let me know if anyone tries it to see if it really works.

In the vinyl graphics industry we use an orange based solvent to remove glue.....the stuff we use is from ZEP called rapid remove, but if you find the strongest citrus based product from homedepot and youll be fine
